FCE were awarded the refurbishment and the re-development of the ground floor at the Principality Head Quarters in Cardiff. The works included a new internal remodel of the reception and office areas, along with an extension to the side of the building. The extension will incorporated a new coffee shop and to the rear new meeting rooms.
The works started in November 2015 and is due to finish in November 2016. A temporary main entrance and reception area was made to the side of the building to enable the works to the front of the building to be carried out. All of the front elevation of the building and part of the side was hoarded off.
A new planar glass glazing frontage was installed to the new extended main reception area with circle glass sliding doors. The basement area and pillars which were outside are now inside behind the glass front. As you walk through the circle glass sliding doors the new reception area now consists of a seating area to the right with a bespoke handmade European oak feature wall incorporating photos and trophy’s. A new media wall directly in front of you with 8 digital screens and to the left of the reception area is the main bespoke reception desk. The desk was specifically made as per our client’s specification. Behind the desk consists of another handmade bespoke European oak wall with corporate signage and LED lighting.
